Digital Media Association, Punjab holds meeting, discuss problems and new challenges

Chandigarh, July 28-The Digital Media Association of Punjab today held a meeting here at its office in Arth Parkash building and discussed in detail the problems and challenges being faced by online news web portals and Web TVs.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Davinderjit Singh Darshi President of the association under the patronage of Mr.Baljit Balli Chief Patron and Mr.Satinder Bains Chairman.

The Association members including Mr. Parminder Singh Jattpuri Joint secretary and Treasurer, Mr. Davinder Singh Kohli General Secretary, Mr. Mahavir Jain Vice President and other members felt the need to approach the Punjab Chief Minister and senior officers of the Punjab Public Relations Department to discuss their day to day problems. The Association members said that digital media is facing new challenges on the technology front and generating revenue for upgradation of media platforms.

Mr.Darshi President of the Association noted that Punjab government was supporting the digital media to reasonable extent but news web portals are expecting more help to survive in the age of competition. He said that Digital Media was playing leading role in trhe development of state by highlighting state government schemes for the society and atg the same time web media is instrumental in raising public issues to call attention of the authorities.

It was decided to hold a seminar on rising challenges before Digital Media in the age of technology. The seminar would focus on means of meeting the challenges and role of government in promoting digital media.
